About Haber Services
"My goal is to help companies specify and procure their non-metallic equipment, to perform shop inspections during the fabrication of new non-metallic equipment, to inspect in-process equipment at customer job sites and also to train other inspectors on what to initially look for."
- Thomas Haber (CEO of Haber Services)

Thomas Haber | CEO of Haber Services
Thomas (Tom) Haber was the Quality Assurance (QA) Program Manager for Maverick Applied Science for the most recent 10 years. From design and drafting, through project coordination and then field service installation and inspection, Tom has been involved in the Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) industry for over 30 years. Tom’s FRP and non-metallic equipment experience has covered most aspects of shop and field manufacturing and inspection including contact molding, filament winding and vacuum infusion. Tom has developed and implemented, both quality assurance and quality control programs for shop and field sites. Tom has also led the field installations of numerous large diameter FRP chimney liners and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) ductwork projects; along with their associated transfer piping and intermediate storage tanks.
Prior to joining Maverick Applied Science, Tom began his non-metallic equipment career at Beetle Engineering. In the early 1990’s, Tom was a designer and field superintendent for numerous projects including several abrasion resistant (ABR) piping projects and field repair projects which focused primarily in the Power Generation industry. In the mid-1990’s, Tom transferred to one of Beetle’s manufacturing plants in Green Cove Springs, FL to become their Quality Control & Safety Manager. This FRP pipe production plant specialized in producing large diameter piping and its final field installation. During this time Tom worked with clients such as Black and Veatch, Florida Power Corporation, Bechtel, Niagara Mohawk Power, Penn Power, Georgia Pacific, Eastman-Kodak and Marley Cooling Towers.
Through the 1990’s Tom completed several key overseas projects with Beetle Plastics, including several thousand feet of large diameter piping for a desalination project through Black and Veatch which was installed in Bahrain. Another large piping and field installation oversight project completed was for a new rayon fiber manufacturing plant being built near Jakarta, Indonesia. When Beetle Plastics changed ownership in 2002 Tom was their Vice
President of Operations. After the Beetle ownership transfer was completed, Tom decided to form Composite Technologies LLC as an FRP equipment repair and installation company. In 2006, Christen & Laudon LP purchased the assets of Composite Technologies and hired Tom to be their President for all North American operations. Along with the company’s overall daily leadership, Tom was tasked with developing all the required Safety and QC
procedures for the company’s projects. These projects included over 1,000 feet of 25’ diameter FRP chimney liners for Bechtel and Wisconsin Energies, along with over 400 feet of 29’ diameter FGD ductwork for SPX and American Electric Power (AEP) which was installed into an existing hyperbolic cooling tower.
In 2012 when Christen & Laudon LP closed their North American operations, Tom joined Maverick Applied Science as a Field Inspection Manager and is currently Maverick’s Quality Assurance (QA) Program Manager. Tom’s responsibilities as QA Program Manager include developing, implementing and maintaining all MAS safety programs and the MAS Inspector training programs, the training all MAS Inspection Managers, and providing daily
leadership to the MAS Inspection Managers in the field. His current duties include reviewing and approving all MAS Inspection reports prior to issuing.
- Tom is currently an ASNT Certified Level II Inspector in the VT Method, and has been a DVS 2212 Certified Thermoplastic Welder.
- Tom is most recent Past Chairman of the American Welding Society’s G1 Committee on the Joining of Plastics and Composites1
- Tom is the current Chairman of the ASME RTP-1 Materials and Quality Assurance Subcommittee
- Tom is the current Chairman of the ASME NPPS NM.2 Fabrication and Examination Subgroup for FRP Pressure Piping

Experience
QA PROGRAM MANAGER | MAVERICK APPLIED SCIENCE | 2013 TO 2024
· Primary responsibilities include providing leadership to the Inspection Group, receive leads and provide
quotations to customers, schedule inspection workload, provide guidance to inspectors in the field, perform
critical inspections for customers, review and issue all inspection reports, review profitability of jobs. I
developed Maverick’s Safety Policies and Procedures, Maverick’s QA Program for Inspector Certification and
resolved any third party (ISNet, Avetta, PICS, etc…) safety compliance issues.
OWNER | COMPOSITE TECHNOLOGIES LLC | 2012-2013
· Continued providing Inspection Services and Field Installation assistance to customers including Maverick
Applied Science, Jacksonville Electric Authority, AM/NS Steel, TECO and others.
PRESIDENT | CHRISTEN AND LAUDON LP | 2006-2012
· Led all North American operations for this German manufacturer after they purchased the assets of my
company, Composite Technologies. C&L produced large diameter (29’ and larger) fiberglass ductwork for
power plants installing clean air technology systems to scrub their exhaust gasses. This company had annual
revenues of $6-$7 million per year. When the market collapsed for coal produced energy along with the
scrubbing of the gasses, C&L closed their North American operations and returned to Germany.
OWNER | COMPOSITE TECHNOLOGIES LLC | 2002-2006
· Produced non-metallic piping and tanks along with Field Installation assistance to customers including Georgia
Pacific, International Paper, Jacksonville Electric Authority, TECO and others. Fully responsible for all company
activities and its employees including sales, marketing, quotations, purchasing, human resources, payroll,

shop fabrication drawings for production of the piping systems. Transitioned to the quality control department,
where I became the Quality Assurance Manager soon after. I led the QA group until being tasked to lead all
production in FL as their Operations Manager. This led me into safety training and employee certification
requirements as Beetle Plastics began performing field installation work on customer sites. When Beetle
Plastics sold to another fabricator, the FL plant I was responsible for closed. I purchased some of the assets
from the closing plant and opened my own fabrication business in 2002.
